In the City
Julie and Arki’s editorial session around the city of Wynwood might just be one of my favorite shoots to date. As much as I love weddings, taking on creative editorial projects like this always gets my creative energy flowing in new ways. And with a couple as fun, stylish, and deeply connected as these two, the whole day felt effortless.
We wandered through the heart of Wynwood, stopping at two of my favorite local spots for a quick bite and some unforgettable photos. First up was Joe’s Pizza NYC — a vintage-inspired pizza shop with giant slices, checkered tables, and a nostalgic charm that felt straight out of a movie. We followed that up with Salt & Straw, debatably the best ice cream spot in Miami. Between cone breaks and quiet moments, the shoot felt less like a session and more like an adventure.
Julie wore her actual reception dress for the shoot, styling it with deep red accents: velvet red heels and a beautiful bouquet of calla lilies. It was the perfect editorial bridal look — modern, elegant, and just a little unexpected.
Julie and Arki are high school sweethearts, and you could feel the ease and deep friendship between them the entire time. There’s something so rare and pure about a love that grows up with you — and being able to photograph that in such a relaxed, playful setting made this session something I’ll never forget.
